About us 

Commerce is a value stream within Group Lending and Payments organization with the mission to strengthen Swedbank´s offering of bundled payment solutions to merchants. This means delivery of competitive, reliable, and high quality products in different channels across POS – in store, E/M-commerce (= OMNI channels). The Group Lending and Payments organization is responsible for efficient contribution of deliveries in close collaboration with Product specialists, according to set strategies.

The cross functional team (CFT), consisting of Software Engineers and Business Analysts, is responsible for end to end deliveries to Cards Acquiring business units in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and as well as Retail Banking and Back Offices in Baltics which includes many complex applications and integrations to other systems.

At the moment we are looking for an Agile Product Owner to join our team! 


About the job

In a role as Agile Product Owner (APO), you will be responsible for what to deliver and to maximize the value of the investment opportunity and the work of the cross functional team (CFT). In the role you will act as APO for one out of five CFTs in the Commerce area.


Main activities of the CFT’s are to:

  • Develop and maintain the Card Acquiring systems and services in Baltic countries, as well as contribute to the overall strategy and delivery according to road map for the Commerce area;
  • Ensure stable and high quality deliveries as well as continuous stability of the systems and services managed by the team;
  • Ensure contribution to problem, incident and crisis management.


Your assignment comprises:

  • Understand Commerce business, market and customers;
  • Communicate Product vision;
  • Ensure that most important investments opportunities/MVPs from the value stream roadmap are delivered;
  • Ensure that the backlog is managed and prioritized in order to maximize value for the customers;
  • Responsibility to assure prioritization so that there is a healthy balance between new functionality, maintenance and life cycle activities;
  • Plan and estimate the work together with the team;
  • Expectation management towards stakeholders and others involved;
  • Collaborate with other teams and APOs when approaching cross value streams deliveries.


What you need to succeed

The ideal candidate has/is:

  • Experience from the card acquiring/issuing area and, hence deep insights and understanding of the business;
  • Perfect communication and negotiation skills;
  • Experience working in Agile environment;
  • Proficient in oral and written English;
  • Able to change the language based on the listener;
  • A relevant university degree or similar work experience;
  • Capable of saying “NO”.


 What you may have worked with previously:

  • Agile Product owner;
  • Product manager or project manager;
  • Business system manager;
  • Developing client solutions, maintenance and lifecycle management.
